Beqa Lagoon in December

Kelsey and I had an excellent time in Fiji. The resort was spectacular, the staff were all so very pleasant. I thoroughly enjoyed everything that Beqa has to offer. The diving was beautiful, so many corals and fish I was simply in awe the whole entire time. What a wonderful culture the Fijian people. I had a few very nice afternoons sitting in the village talking story with Joeli, Lita, and their son Sam. What a welcoming and loving people. I literally lost myself a few times in utter happiness. When the choir and the school kids came, each time I was just out of it with the powerful energy they put in the air. I also had a great experience making coconut cups with Tuemo and Blackie who did most of the work despite my efforts to do them myself haha. Anyway I have already and will continue to tell people about the amazing time we had. Mark and Sue were so very helpful with anything we needed or questions we had. Thank you all Lori and the McCoy crew, Mark and Sue, and all of the VERY special Fijian friends that we made along the way for a week of life I will never forget and hope to relive again.

Amazing Fiji Vacation at Beqa Lagoon Resort

Thank you. Fiji was amazing. The accommodations were very nice and far exceeded our expectations. The food was very good and we had enough. The Diving was awesome. We really enjoyed the people and especially the organization. We didn’t have to worry about anything which made it very relaxing. I would not recommend this location to anyone who wasn’t a diver though as everything was geared towards their schedule. The dive crews were very professional. We were a little concerned having been in Mexico but they were very cautious and made sure everyone was safe.

Incredible Oahu Vacation

We are settled in and back to work.....sigh!!!!
Oahu - Hawaii was beautiful! The hotel was great! It was clean, staff was nice, the adult only pool had us at hello!!!! LOL The flags on the back of the pool chairs to get service was a cool idea.....the waitress were super fast and efficient too! We loved the bar "Rum Fire" ...it was the happening place to dance under the stars!

We asked the locals about food and went to Duke's steakhouse ----OMG AMAZING--- we all agreed it was the best steaks we have ever had! Then we went to the "Shore Bird" for a fun night of grilling and singing - great memories!

The catamaran was awesome! We hiked diamond head which was breath-taking. Did some snorkeling at turtle cove and sharks head after we toured the island and shops on the north shore in our super cheap SUV you recommended!
Pear Harbor ....well still brings tears to my eyes.... it was a very moving experience for me as my dad was deployed from there 3 days after the bombing and sent to Okinawa where he received his purple heart. We meet 4 WWII vets which was just too cool for us! Got our pics taken with them and helped them place their lei's on the memorial!!!
All the food in the hotel was great and the breakfast deal was just that, a great deal! Food was really good!
The luau was great, food was good! Transportation not so much, but Overall things were great!

Flights were long but ok.....we all agreed first class the next time for more space. Being greeted with our names and a staff member right after getting off the plane made things MUCH easier for us! We do plan on returning some time ....all the locals recommended we try Maui next time....so why not!

Fantastic Maui Vacation

Aloha Lori and Mahalo for arranging such a wonderful trip for us!

We had a fabulous vacation on Maui! It was really hard to leave, and even harder to arrive home to the daily grind. Next time (and there will definitely be a next time), we are going to need something closer to 2 weeks to really bask in the relaxing pace of it all. Here are some of our thoughts on the places, and please be sure to let us know if you have questions:

Honua Kai - was a beautiful place - spacious, comfortable rooms, huge lanai, nice facilities, lovely grounds, good restaurant. The kitchen could use a bit of shelving for food as the dishes took up all the cupboard space.

Kea Lani - What can I say? It's the Kea Lani. We love it. Absolutely love it. Beautiful rooms, grounds, pools, beach. Impeccable and friendly service. Fantastic breakfast buffet. No wonder we keep going back. We loved them when they put us in that Villa four years ago, but we also love their regular suite! :) We love almost everything about the Kea Lani. The ONLY downside is that they no longer have a reasonably priced restaurant to have dinner with your kids.

The beaches at Wailea and Makena are sooooo great, and they were much more accessible to our children than Kaanapali. I was surprised by this, as I vacationed for years on Kaanapali with my own parents and siblings when I was growing up. I remember playing in the ocean all day, every day. But the ocean in front of Honua Kai was too rough for our kids the first few days, and was too immediately deep for them to play in safely. There's no sand shelf. The Wailea beaches have that (a soft, sandy, gradual bottom), plus the snorkeling, so our kids were able to boogie board, body surf, and snorkel all day. We saw a huge (probably 5 ft) sea turtle down there - totally awesome!

We had fantastic meals throughout the trip, did part of the Hana Highway, went to Haleakala, and just all around enjoyed ourselves. I really can't wait to go back. We were sorry not to get to see you and give you a squeeze. Next time, okay? If you have any questions about any of my comments, please feel free to call me. Incredible Fiji Vacation

We had an amazing holiday at Castaway Island in Fiji. Thanks to Lori for being really helpful in getting our transfers and hotel planned. The staff at Castaway is truly unique...in all of my travels around the world I have never encountered such a friendly staff anywhere. We only spoke to Lori a few times but she was able to answer all of our questions and get back to us with answers she did not know. Everytime we called she answered her phone...no voicemail and no sitting on hold. It was a nice feeling to know that when we called we were able to talk to Lori.

Fabulous Fiji Vacation

Bula Lori,

We will for sure be asking for your expertise when we go to Fiji again as a family. In the meantime any places we should be keeping our eye on? Someone said there is a great family resort on the other side of Likuliku?

Did Tracy mention they now refer to us as the responsible parents after we jumped off the 45 foot waterfall at the end of the Lavena Coastal Walk? I attached a picture of me jumping. We also missed our flight from Nadi to Taveuni and flew in on the cargo plane. It was amazing and we were so glad it happened. Just us and 2 pilots in a tiny plane. Such amazing views. Daily volleyball was also a highlight and we decided to do the resort scuba with Jamie and are hooked! We will be scuba certified when we go back. And of course we miss sitting nightly with the Band Boys drinking Kava. We are both suffering from severe post paradise depression. I told Tracy to let us know if they ever have a job opening as we will sell everything and move to Taveuni in a heartbeat!

Beqa Lagoon Diving Vacation

Bula! Vinaka! To Lori and McCoy Travel.

We had an exceptionally problem-free vacation, for both the Beqa Resort and the Sydney portions of our trip.

The flights, on both Air Pacific and Pacific Blue (aka Virgin Pacific or whatever name they're going with), were wonderful. They give one much more leg room and friendlier ground and flight crews than standard U.S. carriers.

The food and diving experiences at the Beqa Resort were very good. The diving itself was the highlight of the trip, seeing lots of new fish and corals.

I should note that virtually all of our dive group used the massage services available at the spa at Beqa Lagoon, even some of the men who'd never submitted to a massage before. ALL of the masseuses were EXCELLENT! Some of the best massages that any of us had ever experienced.

I cannot think of any improvement on your end. Lori did a wonderful job of advising and organizing our trip, especially given all the curveballs of variation we threw at her. Her tips were on point and very helpful.

Beqa Lagoon Diving Vacation

Hi Lori,

I can tell you right away that my experience was exceptional! The travel to and from Beqa Lagoon was without a hitch, and the information you provided regarding the duty-free being open early in the morning upon arrival was correct, in spite of the doubts of some of my co-travelers.

From my perspective, the Fijians at the Beqa Lagoon Resort did an amazing job of making us all feel welcome, comfortable and safe. I thought the diving was very good, the dive crew outstanding, and most of the sites they chose were pretty good, if not excellent. Plus, I'm glad I opted for the shark dive. It was incredible! Next time, though, I'd be sure to turn around during the first dive because sharks were cruising by us, and some of my fellow divers neglected to point it out. Otherwise, I would have seen even more sharks! I can definitely recommend it.

The other thing that really stood out for me was the food. It was like dining in a 5-star restaurant! And your suggestion to always order the dessert was spot on. I was extremely pleased with the food. And it was such a nice touch that the wait staff learned each of our names quickly and always used them when addressing us. Very cool and special!

Of course, the people I went with, Fabio's Fabulous Dive Buddies, made the trip very fun. For a group of 11 people from varying backgrounds I was pleasantly surprised at the chemistry between us all.

The only wrinkle in the trip was that my camera was stolen at the resort. I have my suspicion who it was (another guest), but no confirmation. I felt my belongings were safe there, and never expected something like that to happen, but there are always dishonest people everywhere you go. In spite of what happened, I didn't let it ruin my vacation. And others took enough photos for all of us, so I've got plenty to show my family and friends here in Portland.

Regarding spreading the word, I've been talking up Fiji quite a bit and told several folks that I booked through your agency. When I get a minute, I'll get on TripAdvisor and comment there, too.

I'm sure I'll be in touch because I'd like to visit Hawaii this winter.

Amazing Fabulous South Pacific Cruise & Fiji

We both had a great time on the Fiji trip, thank you so much for the arrangements. The 7 day Blue Lagoon cruise was a delight we were very lucky to have had the B.L. CEO on board during the cruise that may have made things even better. The crew on the ship could not have done more for us, 1 crewman for each 3 passengers. This was truely a Birthday Trip to remember. The stay at the Westin was again great & Rosies Travel Service was outstanding. We had them arrange 2 day snorkling trips from Denarau Harbor that were outstanding. I would have to say that the best thing about the trip was the friendly & and helpful people we met in Fiji, the staff at Rosies, the Hotel staff, the ships crew as well as people on the streets.

Denarau Harbor has a number of very good restaraunts with reasonable prices, the hotels are a bit pricy however. Local transportation is also reasonable. If & when we go back to Fiji we think we would like to go to several of the outer Island resorts spending several days on 2 or 3 snorkling & relaxing.

We will be spending Jan. & Feb.2011 on Oahu. We would like to visit Kauii sometime during the stay & wonder if you have any deals on airfare from HNL & suggestions on were to stay?

Beautiful Diving in Grand Cayman

Our recent trip was great. Grand Cayman was a wonderful place to take a family vacation. The water was warm and the diving was beautiful. The first place I've been where I could dive without a wetsuit (I get cold in the bathtub). We ended up chartering a boat through Divers Down because the first dive operation we used (Red Sail) that was through the Westin just had too many people on it and had limited options for dive sites. I became spoiled after diving in Fiji and Tahiti with the small boats. Divers Down had good reviews online and their crew was really nice and was good about recommending dive sites. My stepdaughters also got their Advanced Open Water Diver Certification through them. The Westin was a very nice to place to stay and had a nice pool and beautiful beach. Please let Lori know it was a great vacation and we really appreciate her good job. We look forward to having you help us with our next travel plans.

Amazing Qamea Fiji Vacation

Corinne and I wanted to thank you for recommending Qamea to us and helping with all the arrangements. The experience was everything we had hoped for and then some. The magic of the resort and more importantly, the heart of the people we encountered during our stay was beyond words. We’re already planning for when we can go back and visit our new family.

While we were there I think I took about 1000 pictures! We still have not gone thru them all and selected a “subset” to send our friends but when we do we will be sure to include you. The wedding was wonderful, Cia and William took pictures and video and helped with the little last minute details with Corinne’s dress and flowers.

Would love to hear about your Tahiti trip… hope that was grand as well… we would probably still choose Qamea but it’s always nice to hear about other destinations too. We can also cross Samoa off our list… we got to spend a few hours there on the way out! (LOL)…
