Fabulous Beqa Lagoon Experience

Bula Faye,

We loved our Fiji experience! Everything was as we expected. Diving was super. Mark and Sue at the Beqa Lagoon Island Resort we awesome hosts. We enjoyed their hospitality, conversation and first hand experiences. They really knew the island and the people. The food was attractive, delicious and my children found new foods to try and enjoy.

The room was spacious, relaxing, and so comfortable. Quiet. Very Quiet. We loved to sit on our deck and listen to the ocean and quiet! Our children were forced to converse with us! Dinners were family style and we enjoyed conversation with new friends, our hosts, and especially our children. Rosie's travel was prompt, professional and the airline room was a nice touch. My daughter enjoyed a massage, my husband and son took a relaxing shower.

Our single favorite experience was the diving ~ unanimously. Beqa Resort provided superb diving. The Dive team did a top notch job with gear, assistance and choosing locations. Diving was like being in a beautiful aquarium Everyone at the Resort was so friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, attractive and the beds were heavenly! There was so much offered for us to try. I regret not having a Spa experience, but others found them relaxing. We went to visit the school. We enjoyed the choir and Meke dancers that came to the resort. The firewalkers were astounding as well. Thank you so much for your fine coordination and service. You anticipated our needs and any problems we would encounter with your emails which helped guided us through our visit. We can't wait to do this again with you.

Sincerely,
G. Harwood & Family

Hawaii Family Vacation

Hi Sue!

Hawaii is awesome! I loved it, not enough time though, next time it will be much longer. The resorts were beautiful. I really can't tell which was my favorite because they both had qualities that I enjoy, The Hilton Waikoloa was just beautiful. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet and it was so nice that it was included. The vow renewal was very nice Penei was very sweet and the photographer we had we really nice too, we got some really awesome pictures. We went on a helicopter ride with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters, and I was very excited I didn't get sick, I was a little disappointed that the trip we selected didn't take us to see the top of the Volcano, There was just not enough time to explore.

The Hawaiian Hilton, I loved being in Oahu, all the activities going on there. Our room was fine.

The flights were long on the way out, I never dreamed that a 6 hour time difference would cause such a difference in your body clock. But it just made us feel like early risers!! The flight home was delayed until 9:00 pm which was awesome because we went Para sailing right before we left. My cousin asked his girlfriend to marry him while they were up in the air so that was really special and I would have been so disappointed to have missed it. So, I'm sure God made the flight late so I could be there!! :) Cause I've been coaching him forever on getting engaged!!

All in all the trip was awesome and I am going back and staying 2 weeks next time. I'm even thinking of going back with my husband next May for our 25th Anniversary, (if we can swing it). Thanks for everything!

Aloha!!

Fabulous Maui & the Kea Lani

Hi Sue!

Sorry it has taken me so long to reply - it's been a busy summer! Our trip was wonderful, thanks so much for all of your help! Thanks also for the lovely food & drink that was in our room at the Fairmont Kea Lani when we arrived.

My favorite part of the trip was the snorkel trip thru Trilogy. The staff was top-notch in every way. Funny thing, once we got back I was looking through my Maui For Dummies book again (where I found your agency) and found info on Trilogy. I didn't see it before the trip. They got a great rating, but there was a caveat about them becoming "too slick"....I didn't find them to be that way at all. Oh - and a warning, the trip back from Lanai is very choppy (they said it's always that way), for me it was very scary but I lived through it, and it didn't change my opinion of the whole day at all.

The hotel was fabulous also! The staff was great, and I loved how they came around w/cold towels, ice water, and pineapple slices during the day. Their cabanas are very reasonably priced. You could choose either $100/day which included free drinks, juice, fruit, etc or $100 for two days not including the extras. We got the cabana for 2 days, worth every penny on days where there isn't a cloud in the sky. As a comparison, the cabanas in Wisconsin Dells resort hotels run $100 - $200 day depending on the season.

Dinner at Nick's Fish Market was superb, and also the most expensive dinner we've ever had! The bill was $400+ for 4 of us. We expected it though, and it makes for a good story. In my opinion though (I'm not a fish eater except for crab & scallops) the best meal I had was the BBQ on Lanai after our snorkel trip. I've never seen my son eat two pieces of chicken and two helping of peas!

Other highlights were Lahaina village and the helicopter ride, though I didn't go on it. Just Joe and the kids. I get air and sea sick (took Dramamine before the snorkel trip and I was fine). They mail you a DVD of it, so I got to see it anyway. A funny - rather weird - story surrounding the helicopter ride. We learned that there is a big push for time share resales there in Maui. The guy at the snorkel shop, who rented us great snorkel sets, tried to give us a huge discount on the ride if we spent 2 hours listening to a time-share salesperson. He was very, very slick about it and we almost bought into it. After that we noticed lots of people in the area trying to sell deeply discounted activities if you spent the time listening to the spiel. That was probably the only dark spot of the trip.

I hope this email isn't too long for you - I figured the more I told you the more you could tell future customers :-) All in all, it was a fabulous trip and my husband is already talking about us going back someday.

Thanks again for all your help - I'll be sure to use you again in the future if we do go back there, or any other place your agency can help with!

Amazing Qamea Fiji Vacation

Bula Lori!

Corinne and I wanted to thank you for recommending Qamea to us and helping with all the arrangements. The experience was everything we had hoped for and then some. The magic of the resort and more importantly, the heart of the people we encountered during our stay was beyond words. We’re already planning for when we can go back and visit our new family.

While we were there I think I took about 1000 pictures! We still have not gone thru them all and selected a “subset” to send our friends but when we do we will be sure to include you. The wedding was wonderful, Cia and William took pictures and video and helped with the little last minute details with Corinne’s dress and flowers.

Would love to hear about your Tahiti trip… hope that was grand as well… we would probably still choose Qamea but it’s always nice to hear about other destinations too. We can also cross Samoa off our list… we got to spend a few hours there on the way out! (LOL)…

Hope all is well with you!

Great Fiji Vacation

As a reminder of who we are, we are a family of 5, with 3 kids currently ages 13, 10, and 7. I've travelled fairly extensively-lived in Malaysia as a high school student for a year, speak 5 languages, my wife's family originated from the Phillipines, etc... I often like to dive on tropical vacations, but my wife does not. My 10 year old got his Jr certification while at Castaway. We are activity oriented. A lovely beach is fine and appreciated, but there have to be activities to engage in as well. My wife enjoys tennis, so usually wants to find a place with or near opportunity to hit a bit if she can.

Castaway: My wife and I booked with you at Koro Sun 3 years ago on your recommendation, just the two of us without kids. Great trip-just about perfect. Great food, beautiful people, good diving, my wife cried as we left. Not much of a beach or pool, and the intimate nature of the place accepts but isn't too populated with kids, so Castaway was a better destination for family, but set the standard for comparison of accommodation, food, and friendliness for us to date. So with that in mind, there were things that were nice about Castaway and some things that fell a bit short.

The good: Beautiful location. Beautiful beach. Nice facilities: Nice size pool in good condition, tennis court, spacious bures, beautiful dining area, boats in good condition, good dive facility, lots of families with kids to make friends with, great dive staff (good with kids too, as my 10-yr-old will testify).

The fair (I won't say bad b/c I don't think anything was "bad", just a tad off or disappointing at times): Food was good, but not great. Nothing bad, but just a notch above good buffet quality. Certainly not the level of Koro Sun from '06. The staff were nice, but with many the radiant warmth was just not there. ( My wife was not moved to tears when we were leaving.) The diving is beautiful but tame - great for my 10-year-old to learn, but similar at all sites so that 6 days of diving clear calm waters with pretty corals gets monotonous for me. No schools of barracuda, no large sharks, no rays, no swim throughs, etc... And, while relaxing, being contained on a beautiful island, nice as it is, is a bit limiting compared to the opportunities available on Vanua Levu with the waterfall trek, mountain biking, access to village, church, pearl farm, etc... Not as much "ethnic" fiji. The meke was great, but otherwise was a nice-sized family resort on a beautiful island, but would give B+, whereas Koro Sun would have received an A-, with their demerits coming from lack of a real beach and small not-really-viable pool area.

Okay, so those are our likes/dislikes and personalities of our family. So I'm starting to look ahead to summer of 2010 and I am open to recommendations. Enough for now. Thanks again, and if you've got some nice creative thoughts, feel free to think about what you'd recommend to close friends with similar backgrounds/experiences, and let me know. Happy New Year.

Fabulous Hawaii Wedding Party

Aloha Michael and Tish!
We just wanted to thank you for all you did to make our ten year anniversary celebration a memorable one. This past week would have not been possible without both of you. Our family and friends had a wonderful time in Oahu and Maui.

Michael,
We originally started out with a different travel agent. Planning started out OK but we soon realized that the agent was in over her head. We called Mccoy Travel and spoke with you and noticed the difference immediately. You stepped right in as if we had been working with you from the beginning. Our family and friends complimented on how helpful you were and ready to attend to their needs. Thank you for all you did. You definitely saved us from what could have been a nightmare. We love to travel and hope you will continue to help us withour travel plans in the future.

Tish,
Thank you for recommending our excursions. You gave us memories that we will never forget. We appreciated your attention to detail and the status updates on our group activities. You made our family and friends feel like your family and friends. They were all very complimentary of your patience and taking the time to work with each of them. The message in the bottle was a nice touch and very thoughtful.

I will recommend you both to my family and friends and in fact have already done so. We hope to return very soon to Hawaii. It is truly home away from home for us.
Again, thank you for all you have done to make this trip an experience we will never forget.

Mahalo,

Hawaii Family Trip

I attached a few photos for you. One is of Mohan and me at Santa Monica beach (before we got to Hawaii). The second is of Erin and Anna at the old Lahaina Luau.

Thanks again for all your help. I have the feeling we were probably one of your more 'challenging' clients.
You made our trip relaxing and enjoyable - thank you again.

All the best,
