Incredible Hawaii Vacation

Aloha , Below is the info on the wonderful lady Sue, that I found who was so great helping me plan our Hawaii trip. Like said, it was INCREDIBLE, and she's really good at knowing what's going to be best for you after she talks to you for awhile. I'm convinced our conversations helped her with leading me to the right hotel, etc. Also they have great packages they can put together with their vendors. If you want to go to Oahu/Honolulu/Waikiki, I would definitely stay at the Moana Surfrider Westin. It is right on the beach, and the hotel is GORGEOUS! The food was incredible, the Spa experience was AMAZING, and it is literally right on the "Rodeo Drive" of Honolulu as far as shopping. Ridiculous! We had a beautiful tower room; it was pretty big, (an auto-upgrade in the package we bought) and was literally overlooking the ocean and Waikiki beach - it could not have been more surreal! The room also had a nice-sized balcony with two patio chairs and a small table and plenty of room to just hang out and listen to the surf (Tim literally thought he had died and gone to heaven!). I took several pics (hundreds!); one is the sunset one night (a big event as you can see), the hotel front at night (doesn't do it justice!), the bay where we went snorkeling (OMG! gorgeous and too much fun to see all the pretty fishies!) and the views from our room (yes, that big "mountain" on the left is Diamond Head which is on the SE end of the island; it was a volcano once I think). The hotel had a complimentary "special services coordinator" person that could help you with the different tours to do whatever you wanted. The tours were too fun and the guides were a hoot! The snorkeling at Hanauma Bay was SO much fun, and Pearl Harbor/USS Arizona were unforgettable. They were both very reasonably priced. But you might decide you'd rather do something else, and try Maui, Hawaii or Kauai; they are all supposed to be beautiful (we'll do one of those next time) There's tons of stuff to do on those islands and they are much less populated (Oahu has 75% of Hawaii's population probably due to the hospitality industry since Pearl Harbor and Waikiki are there). Anyway, when you're ready, Sue is a great help at guiding you to what you want based on your budget. AND travel is pretty darn cheap right now; I was really surprised how much we got for how little. It was everything I dreamed of, and more - Like the pilot said when we arrived into Honolulu, "Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to PARADISE!!! " and IT WAS !!!!!

The Hotel Hana is Rejuvenating, lots of fun activities too. Heaven on Earth!

From the moment you arrived at the front desk you feel welcomed with genuine Hawaiian Aloha! I've been enjoying this alluring resort since 1990 and I consider it one of the most unique resorts in Hawaii and even the South Pacific. My first longer stay (that was 3 nights), was my honeymoon in January 1991. Prior to that we did the usual, when you live on Maui, 1-2 nights at the most. I've enjoyed many 2 night stays at the Hotel between 1991 and 2010. I am a BIG FAN of the Sea Ranch Cottages w/ jacuzzi spa on the deck. The best ones are the 2 bedroom oceanfront suites w/ jacuzzi tub for a family or 2 couples.

The bed and pillows are so comfortable, that one morning I could not peel myself out of bed until 8am (I usually get up at 6am or earlier). I would rate the bed at a 10! Room service was fast and delicious. I enjoyed one dinner (fabulous preparation of fresh fish and fresh vegies), and one breakfast (eggs benedict with fish.. my FAVORITE). YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY. As usual the staff in the dining rooms were friendly and attentive and the wine selection made my mouth water! I enjoyed a 2004 Heitz CabSav over a 2 night period. As they say in Hawaii, "Broke the mouth"! On Friday nights, the staff of the Hotel perform Hawaiian song and dance for the guests (a dinner show). The old timer ladies are so much fun to watch. Every night, except Friday, there is Live Hawaiian music in the Paniolo Bar from 6:30-8:30. That would be the only thing I would
change. Keep the music playing at least until 9:30!

THIS stay, was beyond a shadow of a doubt, the most delightful, relaxing and FUN ever. Somewhat of a Sabbatical (even though I did do some work), I managed to partake of many of the activities that YOU will want to enjoy when you come for more than 2 days (yes, you must come more than 2 nights!). 2 Thai Massages that are the very best. My therapist was Cynthia. I sit a desk all day and really need to be stretched out. This is so relaxing and you are engaged in the process (versus just lying there being massaged). There is some of that too! I also enjoyed a Watsu water treatment, which is floating in water while you are being massages and softly stretched. OMG for both of these treatments! The one hour horseback ride in the pastures in front of the Sea Ranch Cottages is gorgeous and just enough to make your bum a little sore (for someone who does not ride!).

I went on a kayak/snorkel tour with Hana Bay Kayaks that was spectacular. The weather WAS stellar the whole 6 days I was there and the water as flat as a pancake! I've know Kevin Coates for years. My final big adventure was Maui Stables 3 hours horseback ride in Kipahulu. Not only is the scenery picture perfect, but the guide we had, Keone Smith, was a wealth of knowledge about Hawaiian history (some I had never heard before and I've lived here for 36 years... just how old Keone is!). Keone was witty, funny, cute, very interesting to listen to.. the perfect guide, the perfect day, the perfect Maui horseback ride! Well, honestly, the very last wonderful adventure was driving my cute little miata back home to Kula with NO CARS in front of me. A beautifious day, convertible top down, the sound of the varied thrush birds in the trees, jungle breezes freshening my face and whispering, "be sure to come back soon, Melissa".
As the owner of McCoy Custom Travel & Cruise, I stay at many many hotels in Hawaii (all islands), Tahiti and Fiji. This Hotel, this experience, ranks so high on my "experience rikter scale", that I am writing my very first review on TripAdvisor! Hawaii is a wonderful place to visit with Maui being very much "The Magical Island", voted best island on earth by Conde Nast. And Hana, with it's healing, theraputic, rejuvenating energy, melts the stress away, puts a smile on your face and helps you once again discover the essence of YOU! Hotel Hana Maui embraces you, welcomes you, and welcomes you back "home".
Aloha..

Fiji Fabulous Gathering

Hi Faye,

Thanks for the heads up and the information. Yes I imagine having to jaunt all over the south pacific and to the US to see the kids and relatives could be quite the cost. Guess living in the proverbial paradise has its warts, tough life and all. But, hey! Someone's got to do it! Guess you can "tough it out"! Struggle through it and all. Stiff upper lip you know! Chin up now, that's a good lass! No crying! LOL

Looks like you've been unanimously elected to help us with our future jaunts across the world as well. A poll of a few friends resulted in all agreeing that any trip of this magnitude needs professional attention. I heartily agree. So, you're it my dear! After all, why change horses in mid-stream? Talk to you soon!

Have a great day!!

New Zealand - Rarotonga - Fabulous Trip!

Hi Melissa,
We had a great time in New Zealand and on Rarotonga. Lori always does a great job for us in putting together our vacation (I have attached our email to her). We will be happy to refer friends to your company. We have recommended your company to friends interested in going to Fiji, but in the future, we will also recommend you for the other places as well. We are also happy to serve as a reference as well if you should have someone who wants another opinion.

Thanks

Simply Gorgeous Tahiti Vacation

Dear Sue,

First of all let me wish you a happy new year. I'm back already since one week but as you can imagine, it has been a busy one after such a beautiful vacation. Let me immediately thank you for all your assistance and recommendations, everything worked out perfectly.

Moorea, Sofitel: the island is simply gorgeous (we also rented a scooter for a day to go a little bit around). The resort is probably one of the best and surely has the best beach. Food was excellent as well.

Service was a bit lower than our expectations. On the other hand, the room was pretty nice and its location was excellent; the water is beautiful and plenty of snorkeling to do.

Raiatea, Le Tahaa: OUT OF THIS WORLD.

Simply the best experience ever. You know a bit my tastes and my past experiences such as Fiji, Cook islands etc.
Le Tahaa has been by far the most fantastic experience ever. Location is beautiful, they said they upgraded our room (I don't know if it's just marketing or for real...;-) ) that was overlooking Bora Bora instead of Raiatea, service was expedite and very precise, staff was extremely kind and professional, food was very good, room was outstanding...
I could continue for 2 pages.

Generally speaking, let me tell you that everything worked perfectly with transfers etc. Absolutely no problem.

Enjoy a happy and successful 2010. Talk to you soon,

Andrea

Wonderful Fiji Vacation

Dear Hiapo,

We have just returned from a wonderful trip to Fiji. You arranged a terrific package, on very short notice at a peak time, at the Intercontinental Hotel, which is a stunning property.
A friend recommended we call McCoy Travel when we said we were thinking about a trip to Fiji. You made our trip absolutely seamless and you suggestions were right on point for our needs. We will certainly call you when we are ready to plan a trip to Moorea.

Thank you, Hiapo and a Happy New Year.
Kindest regards,
M. & B. Schaefer

PS The gourmet restaurant at the Intercontinetal is called Navo. It is a delicious eating adventure. We loved it!!
