Wonderful Tahitian Vacation - Moorea, Bora Bora, Tahiti, Tahaa

Moorea, Moorea Beachcomber, Tahiti, Tahiti Weddings, Tahiti Sunsets, Moorea Overwater Bungalows, Moorea Sunset, Moorea Spas, Moorea Spa Resort, Tahiti Resorts, Moorea Resort, Luxury Moorea, Beachcomber Resorts, Tahiti Honeymoon Resorts, Moorea Beachcomber Honeymoons, Weddings in Moorea"Hi folks at McCoy Travel... Joanne you did a fine job planning our trip. All the places we stayed, all 3 Intercontinental hotels & Le Taha'a: Beachcomber on Tahiti, The Intercontinental Moorea & the Moana on Bora Bora were comfortable & well appointed. Great service & staff. We loved the general manager, Laurance at the Bora Bora resort. I especially liked our premium beach front bungalow in Moorea looking out on the lagoon. It was a unique experience for us to stay in an overwater bungalow both on Bora Bora & Taha'a. We had never done that before & were glad to experience that.We loved renting electric bikes & biking around Bora Bora, stopping at Arc de Ciel & buying pearl earrings. We did do a safari tour to the main island of Taha'a & visited the Pearl Farm & vanilla plantation & enjoyed that. The snorkeling especially at Le Taha'a in the coral garden was a hi-light for me & I think for Ken also. I enjoyed going to the Lagoonarium on Bora Bora & touching the sting rays. That was wonderful & unique experience. Tahiti was my first tropical vacation when I went w/ Ken & a group in Feb. of 1988. I was in Tahiti before I even went to Hawaii. All in all our trip to Tahiti this time was a relaxing & rejuvenating vacation & just what we needed." R. Foster (Palo Alto, CA)

"The Intercontinental of Moana was fantastically located. All the food was wonderful and I liked having just breakfast and dinner as the best accommodation for not overeating. All the transfers went off without any hitches. The excursions were well worth it. Present day Taha'a (the main island -- not the motu we were on) reminds me of the Bora Bora of 24 years ago. Loved it. Vanilla is a wonderful gift from God (so to speak)." K. Powell (Palo Alto, CA)

Exceptional Tahiti and Maui Vacation Planning

Ia Orana!

My wife and I had a wonderful honeymoon planned through McCoy travel, and Sue Michailidis did a superb job planning our trip to Tahiti, Moorea, and Bora Bora. We still talk about it on a monthly basis.

Also, our sister and brother in law loved their trip to
Maui and raved about it for weeks. I couldn't get them to clam up about it. So again, a big thank you to Sue for planning their trip as well. She's terrific!

So down to business: We are ready to go some place tropical from Dec 26th through the 31st or Jan 1st. All inclusive. Look forward to hearing from Sue!

Thank You

Amazing Tahiti - Bora Bora & Moorea Luxury

Hi Sue!

The trip was AMAZING!!! We would like to thank you for all the help &
coordination. It's exactly what we needed after a pretty intense of wedding events. The Sofitel in Moorea was the best spot on the island because of the bay & number of fishes/corals. We had the last bungalow at the end of the deck which was just perfect with a direct view on Tahiti. The St. Regis was also amazing. The service was perfect and I think we were there during a quiet week.

I will definitely recommend the spot and the great service that you have provided.

Thanks for all your help & Mauruuru :)

M. & N. Bolte

Romantic Tahiti Anniversary

Aloha Melissa & Sue,

I want to thank you and your team for the wonderful planning and recommendations that made our 25th wedding anniversary most special. My wife and I could not have asked for a better trip to Moorea and our accommodations at the Sofitel were fabulous. The most significant part of our trip was the over water bungalow. We were able to sit on our deck and watch the fish right underneath our bungalow. We were able to snorkel right off our deck. My wife said over and over the ambiance was the most romantic she had ever experienced. Our favorite place to eat on Moorea was a small restaurant called Rudy’s. The owner made you feel a part of the family and the crab stuffed Parrot fish was out of this world. We also ate at Le Mahogany which offered a nice alternative. Our anniversary dinner was at the restaurant “K” at the Sofitel which was out of this world. I would recommend everyone visiting the Sofitel eat at least one meal at “K”. Very romantic!

One recommendation I would give for future vacationers is to find a grocery store early in their vacation to get breakfast food. We did this and it saved us a lot of money. The meals at the resort were quite expensive and we just needed a little something to get started in the morning…not a big meal.

We had the time of our life and appreciate the recommendations and help in making our vacation reservations. Everything was just as you advertised and exceeded our expectations. Thank you for your help!

Simply Gorgeous Tahiti Vacation

Dear Sue,

First of all let me wish you a happy new year. I'm back already since one week but as you can imagine, it has been a busy one after such a beautiful vacation. Let me immediately thank you for all your assistance and recommendations, everything worked out perfectly.

Moorea, Sofitel: the island is simply gorgeous (we also rented a scooter for a day to go a little bit around). The resort is probably one of the best and surely has the best beach. Food was excellent as well.

Service was a bit lower than our expectations. On the other hand, the room was pretty nice and its location was excellent; the water is beautiful and plenty of snorkeling to do.

Raiatea, Le Tahaa: OUT OF THIS WORLD.

Simply the best experience ever. You know a bit my tastes and my past experiences such as Fiji, Cook islands etc.
Le Tahaa has been by far the most fantastic experience ever. Location is beautiful, they said they upgraded our room (I don't know if it's just marketing or for real...;-) ) that was overlooking Bora Bora instead of Raiatea, service was expedite and very precise, staff was extremely kind and professional, food was very good, room was outstanding...
I could continue for 2 pages.

Generally speaking, let me tell you that everything worked perfectly with transfers etc. Absolutely no problem.

Enjoy a happy and successful 2010. Talk to you soon,

Andrea

Wonderful Fiji Vacation

Dear Hiapo,

We have just returned from a wonderful trip to Fiji. You arranged a terrific package, on very short notice at a peak time, at the Intercontinental Hotel, which is a stunning property.
A friend recommended we call McCoy Travel when we said we were thinking about a trip to Fiji. You made our trip absolutely seamless and you suggestions were right on point for our needs. We will certainly call you when we are ready to plan a trip to Moorea.

Thank you, Hiapo and a Happy New Year.
Kindest regards,
M. & B. Schaefer

PS The gourmet restaurant at the Intercontinetal is called Navo. It is a delicious eating adventure. We loved it!!

Tahiti Dream Honeymoon

We had the BEST time on our honeymoon! We loved both Moorea and Bora Bora...the hotel's were amazing! We actually lucked out with the weather too...we only had 2 days of light rain/clouds. Otherwise, it was perfect! All of the activities that you organized for us were great. To our surprise we thought the food was very good too!

Thank you so much for helping plan the dream honeymoon for us!

Have a great holiday season!

Romantic Tahiti Anniversary

Well we are back and settling into the normal pace again, I am sorry it took a while to get news to you but on return we have been extremely busy, any way, about the trip,

All we can say is fantastic for all segments the welcome and service we had at the Ritz in LA was superb especially all the little and large extras, we were upgraded to a suite and had 1st class service and many treats, thank you, it was a great start to our vacation.

We upgraded on the flight to Papeete to business class which was great.

From the time we landed to the flight home it was all better and more than we expected, thanks so much for the champagne at the Hilton Moorea, we had just got back from a day trip and sat on the deck to watch the sunset, when it arrived, the timing could not have been better.

About the cruise, what can we say, everything was great from the service to the food it was fantastic, it was our first cruise and Regent certainly does it right.

We would like to thank you and all your staff involved in planning this special vacation for us, your name has been passed on to friends, and we will be talking in the future, as Hawaii is on our list for an upcoming vacation as well as Fiji and other places, there is so much world to see.

Thanks again for organizing our dream vacation; we will be in contact.

Regards

Luxury Tahiti Honeymoon

Vicki and I are back from our 10 day sojourn in South Pacific paradise, and I must say, Sue Michailidis planned our trip flawlessly. A day in Tahiti was sufficient as Vicki and I had just enough time to take a bus into Papeete and see its major sites. Of course, to be quite honest - for anyone reading this review - Papeete, in my opinion, wasn’t too dissimilar to a typical port of call with any major cruise line. I remember Cozumel looking very similar. So, in that regard, it wasn’t quite as exotic as I’d expected. But again, it’s the capital of Tahiti, so one must expect the appeal to tourism. Being only 8-10 miles from the town center, we stayed at the Intercontinental Resort, which had a terrific view of Moorea – our next stop.

Moorea, I think, was the friendliest of the three islands we'd visited. We stayed at the Pearl Resort - only a five minute walk from a grocery and a five minute drive from the idyllic Cook’s Bay. To anyone considering the French Polynesia as a future destination, I’d highly recommend renting a car or scooter. The island is less than fifty miles around, so the drive, with no stops, is a measly two hours. Of course, for the curious tourist, you’ll probably want to stop at Cook’s Bay, Jus De Fruits, the Lookout, Temae Beach, and perhaps some various Marae (ancient temples), which might push your trip back to six to eight hours. Of all the culinary stops we visited (La Mahogany and Te Honu Iti being two of the more distinguished places) our favorite was Rudy’s, where the shrimp curry was worth the price you pay (everything in the French Polynesia is expensive, so it’s nice to get food that tastes expensive. In reality, Rudy’s is no more expensive than the various other restaurants on the island). For lunch, we walked to Chez Luciano for some pizza. It was a reasonable priced meal, and the chef was quite entertaining as he would screech like a cat on occasion. One restaurant we didn’t try was Alfredo’s; our concierge advised against it, claiming that she’d received quite a bit of negative feedback about it, so Vicki and I took her word on it. Why shell out the money for bad food, right? And at Te honu Iti, I got to feed the stingrays, so I'd also recommend at least one trip there. One downside to all the good restaurants is that they are quickly dwindling. I had a 2007 printout of the Lonely Planet, and many of the restaurants listed are no longer in business.

Upon leaving Moorea, Vicki and I didn’t think it could get any better. The Moorea Pearl Resort had upgraded us, free of charge, to a premium overwater bungalow, so neither of us could have imagined any room for improvement; but, as Sue had so meticulously incorporated, Bora Bora would be all that and more; thus, she made it our last stop. Once again, the Pearl Resort upgraded us to a premium overwater bungalow, only this time, the view was nearly inconceivable. We were in bungalow 44, which was a direct view of the main island and its two peaks, an uninhibited view yielding the vast expanse of turquoise water and deep blue skies. I nearly fainted (if fainting weren’t so “dainty,” I might have!). Being that the resort was on a private motu, I was quite pleased that Sue had suggested the half board meal plan, which included breakfast and the three course dinners. We did, however, go into town to try the pre-eminent Bloody Mary’s; although, neither of us was as impressed as we’d hoped to be. The setting, of course, is original with sandy floors and coconut tables and stools – and even the food was good – but to describe it as a nearly god-like destination is a bit over the top in my opinion.

For the honeymooners out there, I’d suggest a private and professional photoshoot. Since it’s only the two of you, it’s often difficult getting pictures with both of you in them. Talk to your resort’s excursion desk to get the details. Vicki and I spent around 22000 pacific francs for forty pictures, and we were extremely pleased with them.

In short, it may be trying times economically, and although I was a little skittish shelling out the money for it, I’m glad I did. It’s not often a middle-class guy like me could say a vacation of that price was truly worth the money, but in this case – and this is just between you and me – I might have paid more.

Thanks again for the superb trip, or as they say in Tahiti, “Maururuu!”

Best wishes,
P. Adams
